Generally, the oil content of compressed air in oil-injected screw air compressor is no more than 3ppm (no more than 3mg/m3). When the oil content of compressed air exceeds this standard, we usually call it high oil consumption, commonly known as oil leakage and oil flying. Oil leakage in air compressor is one of the more common fault phenomena of users. So when users report that the air compressor consumes a lot of oil, how should we deal with the problem?

 

一、observe whether the oil level of the machine oil barrel has dropped significantly. The oil level indicator line must be observed after the machine is started and loaded stably, and compared under the same environment and pressure. For example, when the pressure is also loaded to 7 kg, whether the oil level has a large change before and after the time.

 

二、whether there is oil leakage in the oil system of the machine, such as aging of the oil pipe, oil leakage in the head, oil leakage in the cooler, etc. The best way is to open the door panel of the machine and shine a flashlight at the bottom of the machine to see if there are pieces of oil.

三、For machines with built-in steam traps, take samples from the drain outlet of the steam trap, drain the water and place it in a clean container (clean mineral water bottles are recommended) to settle for about five minutes, and observe whether there are dots or oil films of oil gathered on the surface of the container. Generally, before settling, the sampled water will be milky white, and there will be only a few thin and colorful oil flowers when observed against the light.

 

 

四、For machines without water separators, observe the drainage of the gas tank. Compared with the previous normal situation, see if the discharged water brings out too much oil. A small amount of oil is a normal phenomenon. Check whether there is obviously more oil in the filter discharge at the rear end and the air end of the workshop.

五、If it is determined that the machine does consume a lot of oil, it is best to arrange to stop the machine and vent the air as soon as possible. Under the premise of ensuring safety, check whether the oil return system of the machine is intact, and check whether there is oil in the center of the groove at the bottom of the oil separator. If there is oil, please deal with the oil return system in time to improve the oil return effect of the machine. In addition, we should also pay attention to whether the bottom of the oil separator core penetrates the bottom of the oil separator core when installing the oil return pipe, especially for some machines with particularly high fuel consumption, this method often has unexpected effects.

 

Through the above five aspects, we can basically determine whether the machine has high fuel consumption and make a preliminary solution for the customer in time. If our service personnel implement this method in place, they can basically handle most of the high fuel consumption faults.
